Eye Care Assessments
Eye care assessment service
This service allows our participating pharmacies to supply the appropriate medication for minor eye conditions diagnosed by an optometrist. This encourages you to visit the pharmacy for those minor eye ailments, rather than going to your GP or even visiting the hospital
If you are exempt from prescription charges, you will not have to pay for the medicine(s) supplied. However, if you normally pay prescription charges (or are not exempt), a charge will be made.
Is there a cost for the service?
Your eyes play a vital role throughout your life, so it's important to look after them. Having an eye care assessment looks at how clearly you can see and how healthy your eyes are.
- This will be dependent on whether you meet the usual exemption criteria for prescription charges.
